Doing the impossible

I went to church with my mom a couple weeks ago. The sermon was about the whole walking on water episode in the bible. The one line from the priest that really struck me, was the following:

“Wouldn’t you like to be able to do the impossible?”

Yeah, I would. I just don’t know how. Any suggestions?

  1. Oooh, great question. I'll be thinking about this for a while.

A couple thoughts - first of all, take notice of all the impossible things you already do. There are plenty. For example, you know the exact thoughts in my mind right now, as I write them.

Another idea that might go somewhere: You have taste, smell, touch, sight and hearing. Try to develop a different way of sensing, something you already have but have never noticed.

Finally, do the drogas. It's not like you're going to be taking a drug test any time soon, right?

  2. Good question, Jim :) I dunno, I guess when I was little I always wanted to grow up and change the world. I feel like I'm accomplishing that in baby steps, but I don't see myself doing anything HUGE. So I guess that's my "impossible" that I'd like to accomplish.

And Mike, can you be a little more specific with your final recommendation? I'm not very familiar with that stuff, so any help in the right direction would be appreciated!
